OK Savings Bank's 'Ansan → Busan' relocation... 'delivering communication to KOVO → related procedures'

OK Savings Bank of the men's professional volleyball team will leave Ansan and move to Busan. It has already delivered its intention to relocate its affiliation to the Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO), and the final decision will be made after submitting related data in the future through the KOVO working committee and the board of directors.안전놀이터

According to the Star News report on the 9th, OK Savings Bank has recently verbally delivered its intention to KOVO about relocating its Busan base, and KOVO has requested the submission of related data before the working committee scheduled for the 12th. If the club submits related data within the deadline, the KOVO working committee will decide whether to present the agenda of the board of directors. If the agenda is presented, the final decision will be made through the board of directors scheduled for the 24th.

"We need to get approval from the board of directors, and we don't necessarily want to do it," an official from OK Savings Bank said in a phone call with Star News. "We need to develop volleyball in the Yeongnam region, and we clearly have needs. We are considering relocating our affiliation to that effect."

In fact, nine of the 14 professional volleyball men's and women's teams are based in the metropolitan area, including Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi Province. The provincial teams are Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Co. and Hyundai Capital Co. and Cheonan Corp. in the men's provinces, while the women's teams are Jeong Kwan-jang (Daejeon), Pepper Savings Bank (Gwangju) and Korea Expressway Corporation (Kimcheon). There are no professional volleyball teams in Busan and South Gyeongsang Province.

A club official said, "Most of them move to the metropolitan area (from the provinces), but we thought a little differently. I thought we would need fans nationwide for volleyball development, and someone decided it should be done once," adding, "The agenda has not been officially received yet. However, if we infer the schedule related to the opening, I think it will be possible only after receiving approval from the board of directors in June."

A KOVO official also said, "We have received verbal communication from OK Savings Bank and have requested the submission of related materials before the working committee. We have not received the relevant data yet," adding, "When we receive the relevant data, we will go through the working committee and decide whether to submit it to the board of directors. If there is no major opposition, it will be submitted to the board of directors."

If OK Savings Bank's relocation to Busan is confirmed, it will leave Ansan for the first time in 12 years since its foundation in 2013. OK Savings Bank, which has used Evergreen Gymnasium as its home since its foundation, won the championship title in the 2014-2015 season and the 2015-2016 season. On the contrary, Busan will have all four major professional sports clubs following baseball (Lotte Giants), soccer (Busan I'Park), and men's and women's basketball (Busan KCC, Busan BNK Sum).
